The Future of High School Grading
The Winnisquam Regional School District has been moving to create competencies at all levels, kindergarten through high school. This is part of the Minimum Standards issued by the New Hampshire Department of Education (NHDOE). At some point in the future, the high school plans to explore the practice of issuing an overall average of 0-100, and replacing that system with levels of proficiency. Levels of proficiency is likely to be measured on a four-point scale
Competencies and Curricular Work
The faculty of Winnisquam Regional High School has been focused on defining course competencies and aligning curriculum for each class. Competencies are skills that have specific performance indicators (aka standards) attached to them. Students are expected to demonstrate proficiency in each course competency. Most courses have either four or five competencies.
F-WLIP - Franklin-Winnisquam Learning in a Partnership
Winnisquam Regional High School has explored opportunities with Franklin High School to provide our students more opportunities while consolidating resources. Some of our students will have the opportunity to take classes at FHS beginning in the fall. WRHS students have expressed interest in taking Woods I, II,and III, Electricity, Architectural Drawing, and AP Calculus. Although FHS have not done their course selections, they have expressed interest in AP courses, STEM, and Computer courses. We are currently working on a transportation schedule. Courses between the two campuses will most likely run the first two blocks of the day.

This is much like a college schedule, where the students take half their classes in the first semester and the rest in the second semester.

Benefits of a 4 x 4 schedule include, but not limited to:
