The F. Majorie Cross Library
The mission is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of information and ideas. The library provides resources to support the curriculum, promote an appreciation of reading, and develop information literacy skills.

Collection
The library has a wide variety of fiction to meet the needs of all students. There is a wide variety of genres, authors, and Accelerated Reader titles. The non-fiction is used for research and student projects. The reference collection contains a number of encyclopedia sets, many subject-specific books to be helpful with research. There is a selection of magazines to interest students that may be checked out.
Information
The Great Stone Face Children's Book award list is to promote reading and increase awareness of current titles for students in grades four to sixth. See this brochure for more details.
Read Across America Week 2011 was celebrated at the middle school with a door decorating contest and a daily trivia contest.
All the students deserve recognition for their ingenuity and artistic skills.

Citing Sources
To assist students and teachers with properly citing sources in works, this WORKS CITED document will provide the proper MLA (Modern Language Association) format for most printed resources found in the library and the online sources found on the Internet.
The Work Cited Format needs to be be alphabetized by author or title, double-spaced, and first line of each entry starts at the left margin with the next line indented.
