Annual Parent Survey

It is that time of year where we request your valuable input to help us write our goals for the next year. Please take five minutes to complete our annual survey by using the link below between April 9th and May 2nd. Students will have the opportunity to participate here at school. It is important that you consider the entire school year and recognize any growth that has been made and areas that may need improvement. Both parents in each household are encouraged to participate. WRMS PTO Recycling Fundraiser

The WRMS PTO is sponsoring a recycling fundraiser just in time for earth day! This event is being held on Saturday, April 12th, the same day as the Local Energy Solutions Conference at the high school. Please see this flyer for details.

WRMS Student Wins National Award

The Scholastic Art Awards of New Hampshire Administered by The New Hampshire Art Educators' Association A Regional Affiliate of the Alliance for Young Artist & Writers, Inc. 2014 National Award Recipients includes our very own WRMS student, Gavin Achorn, winning a Silver Medal Award for his art work Mixed Media, Beware of Your Fears. Congratulations Gavin!

Step Up Day

On Friday, May 30th, 2014, in conjunction with the WRHS and Southwick, we will be holding our annual Step Up Day for students in Grades 5 through 8. Your students will arrive here by bus and spend the morning learning about a typical day in the 6th Grade at WRMS. Please watch for more details to come home regarding the schedule for this day. This recent letter sent home outlines other important dates for parents and students.

Check Your Mailbox

We need your feedback. If you are a parent of a child between the ages of 3 and 21 who receives special education services, the New Hampshire Department of Education needs your input on the Parent Involvement Survey for parents of whose children receive Special Education services. The survey will be mailed to your home by March 28, 2014. For more details review this flyer.

Kindergarten Registration March 31st thru April 11th

Children, who will be 5 years old on or before September 30, 2014 are eligible to enter Kindergarten for the school year 2014-2015. Children, who will be 6 years old on or before Sept. 30, 2014 are eligible for First Grade. Registration packets will be available to complete from March 31st thru April 11th. You may come in and fill out the paperwork or take it with you and return it by the 11th. For a registration to be complete, current immunizations, a physical and a birth certificate are required. If this is your first child to enter the school district, proof of residency is also required. The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth

Are you looking for a challenging experience for your second through eighth grade child? If your child scored in the Proficient with Distinction category of the New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP) he or she may qualify for Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Programs. Food Service Information

Breakfast and hot lunch will be available on the first day of school. The price of a student hot lunch has increased to $2.40 and breakfast is still $1.00.

There is a new, fast, easy and confidential Online Free and Reduced Lunch application. For more information and to apply, please log onto www.wrsdsau59.schoollunchapp.com. If your student received free or reduced lunch at the end of the last school year, he or she will automatically receive the same benefit for a limited time; however, you must reapply for this program again as soon as possible.

You can access your child's lunch account online at MySchoolBucks.com or go to the district's website under the tab DEPARTMENTS»Nutritional Services side menu for the user's guide if you are using this for the first time. You will need your child's ID number, located on his/her schedule, to do this.
