PTO Minutes

October 15, 2008 

Ellision Machine- Sandie will check on this and go ahead and put the order in for it. 

Pizza Party/Open House- It seems that this years turn out was great and the everyone was receptive to the pizza rather than the BBQ.  We did lose some money on this event and would need to plan differently for next year so that we at least break even. 

Fundraiser- The products should been in one to two weeks from now.  Over all we raised $2,280.25.  

Pumpkin Contest- We will have judging on the 30^th of October.  Renee’ and Wendy have committed to being judges again this year.  A flyer needs to go out about this event including dates for drop-off and pick-ups of the pumpkins.  

RIF- November 24^th is the next distribution and the science center is scheduled to come that morning for a presentation.   

Walk-a-thon- This was brought up as another area school did this and raised a lot of money.  We are interested in holding one and would need to research this further. 

Requests- Sandie put out a request for a PTO donation to put towards math games that they would like to purchase for this year 08/09.  The total is $1,200.00, the PTO is looking to give $500.00 towards this purchase.

September 4,2008

Fundraiser- the paperwork we need for this has not arrived, so we will not be sending them out as scheduled for the 9/8.  We may have to get together when it does come in to put these together for the students. 

Pizza Party- we have received a lot of sign-ups for volunteers, so we were able to schedule set-up, serving and clean-up accordingly.  Finalized the list of what we needed and who is going to be getting it.  We also may be able get a Sanbornton Police officer to come on  this night to fingerprint parent volunteers. 

Box Tops- Heather Goodwin is going to be the coordinator for this.  She is looking for shoe boxes for box top collections to put each classroom, so the children can decorate them. We will work on cutting tops at the next meeting to get in for the October deadline. 

The Ellison machine was discussed as a purchase for the teachers here at SCS.  Sandie will check prices, so that we will be able to discuss this at the next meeting and hopefully put the order in. 

It was wonderful to see some new faces at this meeting!   

The next scheduled meeting will be on Wednesday October 15,2008.

 PTO minutes for 8/12/08 

Discussed the pizza party scheduled for Thursday 9/11.  We will serve Sal’s pizza(who is giving us a discount), lemonade, bottled water, carrots&celery and cookies.  Invitations will go out once school starts, so that we may get a count on how much to purchase.  Prices will be $2 per person, max $10(family).  Delegated members to help with getting the goods for this night.  We will also sell our leftover longed sleeved tees on this night.   We will send out a reminder notice on 9/2 to get RSVP pizza slips in. 

Talked about changing the meeting night from a Thursday to a Wednesday, we will decide on this at the next meeting. 

Need to get bill paid for Ice Cream Social. 

Decided we would  make a PTO bulletin board with a  schedule of events and maybe some updated pictures on it to go in the front hallway of the school. 

We will do another child classroom phone list for 08/09. 

Fall Fundraiser will be Current and it will go out on 9/8 and run through the 19^th. 

Next meeting scheduled for 9/4 7pm.  This meeting will be a working one,  getting the fundraiser ready to go out.  We will also try to place volunteers for the pizza dinner on 9/11 and finalize the menu for that night.
