Director of

Curriculum and Instruction

Suzan M. Gannett

Suzan Gannett is the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the Winnisquam Regional School District.  A veteran educator, Mrs. Gannett has taught at the following grade levels early primary, primary, middle school and high school.  Most recently, she has served a principal of the Union Sanborn School.

In her position, she is responsible providing professional development to the district staff.  "Professional development to be effective must be embedded in the day to day operations of schools.  Adults must model learning for their students.  It is important to provide a rich learning environment for our adults so that there is a chance to share and discuss what is happening in our classrooms," said Mrs. Gannett.  The district is currently focused on the following areas of staff development: Differentiating Instruction; Inclusive Classroom; Write Traits and Data Driven Instruction.

The district is in the process of re-writing curriculum to align with the state grade level and grade span expectations.  Teachers district-wide are involved in "unwrapping power standards" in math. Their work is now up on this website.  We are in the process of evaluating how this tool will be used to enhance student achievement. Teachers in grades 6-8 "unwrapped the power standards in reading" this summer and are also evaluating their work.

Mrs. Gannett is the Title 1 Project Manager, and the DINI coordinator for the district.
