Code of Sportsmanship

Winnisquam Regional High School

2011-2012

Notice to all Spectators:

The Winnisquam Regional Athletic Department welcomes you to tonight’s game. In order for this to be a positive experience for all involved, we ask that you remember the reason we are here: to support our school, classmates, sons or daughters and enjoy watching the two teams play, including supporting the opponent. Anything that is not in positive support of all players is unsportsmanlike. Instead of making a negative comment, booing, whistling, etc., turn it into a supportive cheer that will help inspire our players.

Winnisquam fans help us promote sportsmanship by setting a good example and condemning inappropriate behavior by others. Listed below are some guidelines:

  • Remember that a spectator represents their school and community the same as the athlete does.
  • Learn the rules of the game so you will be an intelligent spectator
  • Recognize and applaud exceptional plays be either team
  • Be a good host to the visiting team and its spectators
  • Respect the officials

Any comments, cheers or actions which, in the opinion of the game director(s) or police is deemed unsportsmanlike, will result in the following.

*First offense: Warning
*Second Offense: Immediate removal from the building and or grounds
*Third Offense in the same year will result in the person being banned from all remaining home games.

NOTE: The game director (s) or police may remove a person from the school at any time if, in his opinion a serious violation of sportsmanship occurs.

Thank you for your support. This message is presented in partnership with the NHIAA
