Pet Science

This semester-long course meets every other day and approaches pet ownership from a scientific standpoint.   Students learn about all aspects of pet care and handling, including concepts of immunization and first aid.  Areas of study will include animal behavior and health and related issues such as pet overpopulation.  The course will include multiple opportunities to handle live companion animals.  Leadership development is also included.
